Auto — recommended for most people
What it does: inspects the images, fonts and media in your deck and picks safe settings automatically.

Lossless — structure-only cleanup
What it does: removes duplicate media, unused layouts, revision history and other structural fat. Images are not re-encoded, so every pixel renders identically.
Savings: moderate — depends entirely on how much duplication exists.
Best for: bids, legal documents, final versions where pixels must not change.
Balanced — sharp on screen, much smaller
What it does: moderately re-encodes oversized images (typically those far above their display resolution) while keeping them visually sharp on screens and projectors.
Savings: large — usually the best size-to-quality ratio.
Best for: email, Teams sharing, lecture decks, anything viewed on a display.
Aggressive — smallest file wins
What it does: stronger re-encoding plus downsampling of very large images. On phones and projectors the difference is usually invisible; pixel-peeping full-screen 4K zooms will show it.
Best for: mobile viewing, slow networks, hard attachment limits.
